$75,000 w123 diesel convertible: Eagle-Co struck gold!

Some of you make think its a typo, really $7,495, but I dont think so. Look at their inventory. Perhaps this is the most expensive W123 ever! I wonder what justifies the price; could this be super rare factory job?

Just kidding.

Think I've seen it before...

...one of our eagle-eyed friends here can verify for us - did I see it on e bay? I'm thinking the factory didn't do a CD convertible but there were some customizers back then that did some?

That's a pretty car but not $75K worth of pretty. I've overspent on a couple of mine but not by that much... their inventory seems to be geared to the kind of owner who doesn't know a wrench from a valet key...

Cheers,
Kevin

Anybody can come up with a ridiculous asking price. Doesn't mean somebody will pay it......

very true

I really hope they meant $7,450; I'm tempted to call and ask.

TheDon 01-25-2008 12:28 AM

someone tampered with the cluster.. that is not an OG cluster

for about 10k less I can get a fairly nice Porsche from the same dealer.. mosdef a typo

I didn't notice the convertible top... pretty cool.. but not the price

turbobenz 01-25-2008 12:50 AM

thats the ugliest thing ive ever seen

You can buy a lower miles CD for $20K and have ASC turn it into a cabrio for $50K.

And we thought a 617 was loud enough with all the windows up..........
:P

turbobenz 01-25-2008 02:37 AM

I roll my windows down so I CAN here the engine. I love that noise!

JWJ 01-25-2008 06:40 AM

Is that steering wheel made out of wood?

Some of us dig the noise! :D

Just out of curiosity I see that you sold an '01 Excursion diesel and bought a new gas Suburban. Did problems with the Excursion lead to that decision or was it just time to replace it? (I've been considering a diesel Ex)

My CD has the same cluster... isn't the 85 speedometer to comply with federal law?

JimmyL 01-25-2008 09:15 AM

85 speedos first off went up to a higher speed and second didn't have the silver button over the needle body. So, can't trust the mileage.....

Geez, had I known I would have scooped that roadster right out from underneath him. :) (It was right in my "back yard")

chasinthesun 01-25-2008 11:30 AM

One ,unfactory built ,tach reinstalled ,so so mileage blonde machine for $75k ,or ,35 various other diesel cars I could buy for the same ,thats an easy choice ,land the blonde and ride of in the sunset. The sells guy will tell you that, now come on.

eagle-co94 01-25-2008 11:36 AM

They're smoking crack. The one that recently sold on ebay was green and didn't sell first go. Second time it went for $4k. Very tempting, but it was across the country from me...then again, I bought my roadster from CT. :D

$75k...I wonder what I could get for mine once finished. He he he.

The 1980-1982 W123s with 85mph speedometers did have the chrome dot in the middle.

Hahahahahahaha........*snort*....Hahahahahahahahahaha....ouch!

Ok, I'm better now.....ahh.

Did they say 75-hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.......Damn, I can't stop!!

t walgamuth 01-25-2008 09:45 PM

I rather like the looks of it.

Take off a zero and the price is maybe not so bad.

I do think it's probably a typo. Surely no dealer would think the car is worth nearly $75K. ... If they do, then they'll be sitting on it a good, long while. :D

TylerH860 01-25-2008 10:31 PM

someone in the area should take a look and report back. Volunteer?

Hey, I know what it's like, I roll down the windows in the TDI so I can hear the lovely turbo spool up... :D

It was time for the Excursion to go, the new Suburban is just so much better. We never had any major problems with it...by all means, get one if you want it...the "straw that broke the camel's back" was one little incident of filling it up with $100 of *ahem*gas*ahem*.....yeah don't ask

It must've been because we never fill up at the pump ;)
It ran fine after getting it all out, but yeah...traded it in three days later...

klaus kallas 01-26-2008 06:07 AM

Ok, I agree it is probably a typo.... However, if it isn't, I think I would rather be driving this from their inventory (for 5 grand less).

Might trade in everything I own and just barely make the down payment  !
