Up for my consideration - A Euro 300D wagon
I may be going to look at a 1980 300TD wagon tomorrow.
Small bumpers. US headlamps. Manual climate controls. Automatic. Has attractive 15" alloys from a '90s model. Some rust. Seller claimes well under 200K miles and is asking $1000 Question - I know the 240Ds have a 3.69 rear, and the non-turbo 300Ds have 3.47, Does anyone know if the '80 Euro non-turbo 300D or TD has a different rear-end ratio than the US version? Happy Motoring, Mark

It might be hard to find in a search, but gsxr is the shopforum guru on rear end gears, and he has posted quite a bit on gearing for 124 and 123 cars.

If its in overall good shape, thats a great price for a N/A wagon.

The problem is "Some rust." Personally, I would never buy a rusty car regardless of price.

That's OK as long as you understand that rust is terminal and you are just buying temporary transportation. The parts on the wagon may be worth the $1000 anyway, it all depends on condition.

Never hurts to look. My car was advertised as rusty because of a paint chip.

As for that Euro 300TD, It ran great, but was more rusty than either of my 240Ds, so I passed. Happy Motoring, Mark

I understand, I grew up on the east coast. Before I escaped, I would always own a winter beater for use on snow days.
