So, I have read this entire post several times as I have been having issues with the vacuum actuators on my 1990 300D for months. Turbo not working half the time, AC not staying cold, rough shifts, etcl, etc. Vacuum leaks are a nightmare. Changed it out this weekend and forgot to shorten the rod - wastegate was staying open. Shortened the rod tonight and car runs terrific! Great acceleration from dead stop, AC blows cold, shifts almost perfect. Thanks again for the many contributors to this post! Many thanks

I know that I'm reviving an old thread but I'm at a loss. ATP turbo no longer has access to the Garrett wastegate actuator 433489-12 or 433489-0012. I have checked with many turbo rebuilders across the US and still have not found an actuator. Does anyone know a cross reference to a similar actuator so I can get this 300D back on the road?

Send me a DM, I have the parts for this on a shelf in my garage. Sold the 300D years ago.

Hello, sorry for reviving this topic again, but I need pressure operated wastegate actuator too. I have bad all two vacuum convertors, so easiest fix would be actuator swap. Tried to write email to ATP but they said 433489-12 is no longer available. Do you know any other available solution please? Any other compatible actuator? Also I tried to find other pressure actuator, but without success. Thank you

I used part number 480009-6. I had to straighten out the actuator arm and enlarge the mounting holes in the bracket. But, it works well!

after straightening the rod lenght was okay ? bracket can be dismounted without dismounting turbo ? Thanks for quick response, if somebody have other tested actuators please reply, it will be useful for next generations

Rod length is fine, The turbo was missing on my car, when I picked it up. the turbo was not rebuildable, so I bought a used one. Vacuum actuator and bracket were still attached. You should be able to remove the actuator bracket with the turbo on the car. I did have to use a ratcheting box type wrench to remove the bolts. Not enough room to get a socket in there.

From what I understand, you want to keep the PSI as 15 or below. The one I have begins to open at 12 and is fully open at 14. My car has no trouble cruising at 90 mph, and very little turbo lag noted when taking off from a stop. this w124 is much quicker than my w123 was.

yesterday ordered that 480009-6....it should be 12-14PSI and its closer to stock specs. Cant wait when it comes and power of car will be back. I think for 15-18PSI should be adjusted fuel on alda...

I am going to try this actuator swap on my 90 300d 2.5. What options did you buy for this waste gate?
I am guessing you need the actuator tip and the long threaded rod?
thanks,
James

If anyone has info on a vendor & wastegate part number that is currently available, please share!

GSXR, I guess you are the only one following this now...
I tested around with my vacuum hand pump, and the EGR, and many other devices are leaking vacuum, so I am going for it.
I think I am going to go for the actuator mentioned a few posts above. Hopefully I can make it work. I will let you know what I buy and what difficulties I have.
