Gradually Increasing MPG
As I have been able to repair more and more things on my 300D I have been driving it more. When I picked the car up it was getting a pretty miserable 19 MPG. This last week I put 700 miles on the old girl and it eeked out about 25 MPG more or less the same driving type and breakdown (city/hwy). How about the rest of you guys out there that have brought back some of the luster of your cars. Have you noticed an increasing MPG while dusting off the mothballs?

You may still do a little better on summer fuel later this year. You are probably already pretty good for this time of year. Unless you read ebay that is.

!ANOTHER FUEL ECONOMY THREAD!
I used to get 22mpg average in the summer but in the last year I have managed to increase my efficiency up to 27mpg average. However, it sank to 24.75mpg when I switched to winterized fuel.

My Kalifornistani 300SD used to get 23mpg all highway miles at best. Then I got the trap ox recall work done which gave me the ability to get 26mpg. I replaced the stock muffler and maybe got like 1/4 to 1/2 a mpg more. Changing my turbo's compressor wheel got me another 1/2 a mpg more on the highway.

I've got myself an '83 240D Auto which has increased MPG over the time I've owned it, but that's because I've been fixing it :p
Started off around 15 mpg, terrible. Replaced air filter, fuel filters and got up to about 17. Fixed vacuum problem causing trans to shift very late (engine rev very high burning more fuel) and got up to around 20. Valve adjustment, now up to about 24-25. Supposedly it can go higher, but I'm really at a loss as to how. Maybe fuel injectors?
