Vacuum leak help needed

1985 300D T
We have vacuum leak in the door locking and turning off the engine mechanism.

The car does not shut down when you turn off the key. BUT, if you press down the drivers side lock, the load on the vacuum system finally shuts down the engine.

Once you have done this, the trunk is locked, and you cannot open it, even with a key.

Where would be the most likely place for the leak? I've read multiple posts, but am currently in overload mode and would appreciate some help.

I would guess that one of the lock actuators has tear in it that leaks when in the unlocked position. When the doors are locked, the leak is sealed and the vacuum can build up enough to shut down.

Inside one of the doors, a rubber diaphragm has probably failed.

There is a junction of all the vacuum lines under the matt in driver's side floor. You need a vacuum tester to try them all, and a diagram so you know which lines go where.

My wagon hatch did the same thing when the lock system had a leak. I'd have to start up the car, wait for vacuum, and unlock, lock, and unlock again for the hatch to unlock. The rod on the actuator binds and won't allow the key to work. You can disconnect the rod and plug the vac line if you need to wait for a new actuator. Then you can use the hatch with the key in the meantime.
