Engine Shocktology
I am replacing my left engine shock on my 84 300D. And of course I was so excited to finally get the old one off that I forgot how it went together. I have a picture of the new shock w/ all the hardware on it. Will someone please tell me if that is right??
Also the engine shock mount is shot. I was just wondering if that would be ok to put back on temporarily. There is a pic of that too http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd303/zsmith29/?action=view¤t=DSC01955.jpg http://s227.photobucket.com/albums/dd303/zsmith29/?action=view¤t=DSC01954.jpg Thanks a bunch Guys,

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who does stuff like that.

Haha, Yeah I fought the busted shock for about 15 minutes and I finally defeated it but lost the next battle. I will regain victory when I step outside in a few minutes to replace it, the mount, the steering gearbox, the power steering hoses, and the oil cooler hoses, oh yeah the engine oil, filter, and power steering fluid.
Pray for me Guys

Here's a link to a diagram that shows the order of the parts. I'm doing mine now too, but I'm still trying to get the stripped out lower motor mount bolts off.

Here is the detail photo to help.
You have it right in the photo. The bumber on the right in the photo goes on the frame, and the other end goes through the shock mount. The mount itself goes with the flat side down on the engine mount bracket. As for install without the mount. You won't be able to really install the shock without the mount. If you do install the shock w/o the mount the shock isn't going to be dong anything anyway so, I would just wait untill you get another mount. If you
