If anyone slaps a muscle car style hood scope on a MB it would look stupid and I would make fun of them.

You can do whatever you want to your car, but if your rice a MB I will enjoy laughing at your car. German cars are about being classy, understated, elegant, etc. They are made for mature drivers with some money and taste, who don't need to prove anything. Thats the whole point behind AMG.

I think a hood scope, wing, some subs, dubs, ground affect lights, and a cat back would look tight on a 300D. Fast and furious! Don't forget the decals!

Don't forget to put some random DVD screens and an Xbox inside!

That is an awesome looking car... Although I don't think that he has a scoop on there... Having looked at all of the images on that web page I suspect that he meant it to be not a scoop but a vent for exhaust header heat since it appears to be located in what would be a low pressure area when the car is driven at speed... Even parked I would expect a lot of heat would exit the engine compartment from there...

Speaking of heat... Shields up...

I meant the look of the scoop would be appropriate for MB. I liked the way he faired in the MB logo into what looked like a NACA scoop Looked very Me109...

Somwthing like that would be a nice way to do it. Putting something like an old Pontiac Shaker hood, or Chevy Cowl Induction scoop would be just wrong.
Something like this on the old Buick GS would look cool though...

always thought a shaker hood mounted to a top mount intercooler would look cool... and talk about a shaker hood!!!!! that thing would shake at Idle.

NEVER will that be on my car. but it would be interesting to see. by all means take my idea, and send me pics once you are done!

I have a set of neon lights on order for mine under the doors. That will be pretty classy!

Apparently MBs appeal to immature drivers, too. Just look at the forum!

In Michigan all a hood scoop would do is provide a direct point of entry for all the snow and crud....not a good idea.

While you're at it, see if you can force a few more horsepower out of the thing with one of these

now THAT would look interesting.

Here's the link

Now that's just WAY too cool of a car. I personally would have done all of that to a 300CE, Coupe, but four doors seem to be what everyone wants these days. No matter how you look at it though, he did a great job, and his car is awesome. I love the flared, and radiused wheel wells the best though .

How about hood vents instead of a hood scoop?

Agreed...
Nice photos... My brother had an orange 1972 Buick Grand Sport Stage 1 back in the late seventies... That was a real road machine, it would cruise at 100mph all day, well, until the next gas station at least.. Cool car tho'...
And!! My father owned a 1963 Corvair in the late sixties... Another cool car, rear engine & drive let you drive in almost any weather... He drove it until the floors rotted out, must have had a couple hundred thousand on the odometer when the kid next door bought it and welded new floors in... My dad wanted to buy another one but you had to order it, pay in advance and wait up to a year to get it the last few years they were in production... Last time I saw the 63 it was still going strong when we moved away in 71... Then there was the 66 Chevy Impala wagon with a 327 and 4 barrel carb.... oh, oh feeling old and telling stories...

Where was I?? Oh ya... Awesome custom diesel and very functional hood vent, wouldn't mind having some of that work done on one that I owned...

My bro in law has a 41 Willy`s Pick up with an engine like that. sure can`t drive it in the rain, cough, cough, sputter, sputter. Need ear plugs to ride in it. takes off like out of a sling shot.

I thought about a hood scoop once, however the only reason I did was to make room for an intercooler. The I started to picture it in my mind and decided it would look horrible. Next I considered a blister. The blister wouldn't be as tacky but would still detract from the appearance. It would also advertise that there was some reason that I had to add a blister (people don't add blisters for looks) and that is also something I don't want.

Something off one of the 5.9 Grand Cherokees would be functional (reducing drag and lift) and wouldn't look too bad. Both those and the ones off a Pontiac GXP have drip trays to catch and redirect any water that gets in.
