how tight bolt on fuel filter?

just replaced the 2 fuel filters on my 1982 300d euro non-turbo...how hard should i tighten down the bolt on the big fuel filter? i don't want to turn it too hard and break...think i just have it snug...also, my manual says to rotate primer pump counter clockwise to unlock...mine just spins in both direction but does pump...this because of euro model?...thanks everyon!!

GNT Good and tight. Ive used my cheater bar before. RE pump this means it is already loose. Push down and turn clock wise to lock it in.

I tighten just enough to make sure the filter can't spin off. tight, then 1/4 more.
As for the pump, mine closes by pushing it down and turing it to the right.
I THINK if it's up and 'open' it can allow air in or leak fuel.

If your primer pump has a black plastic knob it the new style which does not lock.
