sounds like fun to me xP i wouldnt mind seeing the inside of a 617.

1981 240d (engine donor 1983 240d) recently rebuilt engine hurray! - No more.. fought a tree and the tree won.

pearl black 1983 240d 4speed (Converted!@$$%) atleast the tranny was rebuilt.

herring, how much is the book time where you had your work done? what is involved in the front seal? do you have any leaks left or did that cure them?
I'd make a really big effort to clean the whole engine underneath esp., before looking for the leak. coveralls & rubber boots at the power wash. Then either you or your mechanic have a much better chance of seeing where it is coming from.

They all leak, whether or not those leaks are addressed is up to the owner.

Its an old car, eventualy all the seals are going to have to be replaced. If they car isn't a rusted out beater I'd fix it. Pick a good time, take it off the road, yank the engine, and use it as a chance to replace every seal you can get at, clean everything up really well, and replace all the rubber parts, like the engine mounts, houses etc.
