After you have done all of that, do as I did, if you want the original CC to work and purchase the electronic unit from Diesel Giant, take a couple of hours and install it, most of the work is under hood, except for one sensor behind glove box. I bought my 77 300D new and my wife wants it like it is supposed to be, so. If you don't want to spend the money, then put in the manual type of control. I have a couple of the behind the glove box sensors, I will send you if you pay freight.

Totally new to MB, but today I replaced my battery in hopes of curing a starting issue (wasn't the battery), I noticed the colored vacuum hoses going into the firewall on the pass side of the battery were in bad shape and a couple of them very brittle and had holes in them. I'm going to fix them regardless, but will anyone verify if these vacuum lines operate the CC?
I'm having nearly the exact same problems with my CC, with the exceptions that the bi-level will work with about a 45 sec delay after depressing the button - nothing happens, then I hear a sort of faint high-pitched buzz/whine just before the blower kicks in. I think the temp wheel intermittently works as well, but is also slow to respond. If I run the bi-level, the higher output setting will work for perhaps 2 seconds before shutting off as if there were a short somewhere. Ruben
