Injection Pump Question
Is the injection pump on the 87 3.0 liter motor the same as the 90 3.5 liter engine, I have a chance to buy one if they are the same.
Thanks |

Physically, yes they are the same. They are tuned much differently.

Hot rod diesel created.....
The 350 pump will deliver a lot more umph via enriched fueling. Think it gives you about 10 to 15 % more fuel under wide open throtle. You should already have enough air via the turbo to burn this extra fuel so would get more power. Instead of the 140 hp you would normally receive, you would get over 150. And extra HEAT. If you don't keep you foot in it, you should be fine (if I'm wrong, I'm sure other forum members WILL chime in). Normal driving should be the same with perhaps a small decrease in fuel mileage. I've considered just such a modification on my SDL.
