if its a big money maker, someone will undercut him. I doubt he is going to ever make back the money for his effort, let alone enough to make it worth while. must be a hobby.

Hmmm. For me a visit to the pull a part is about a 75 mile round trip.
That's 3 gallons of fuel, about $9.75 these days.
It costs me $1 to get in the door.
The 2 sockets would probably be a couple bucks each.
Not to mention my time.
I think $19.95 is a pretty fair deal.

Was/is the seller a member of this forum? If so I do not know what to say. It is hard to protect or claim an idea. I told a guy where I worked that I had applied for a different position (the next day was the last day to apply). Until I told him he had not herd of the opening. That guy applied and got the position! I can only blame myself for what happend. I made an assumption that he would not act on the information.

Explained what I needed at Motor Vehicles and got someone there to check my now functioning brake light. He decided to check a bunch of other things too. That was a couple years ago. So you just made a sale for this guy. I know it's only a couple sockets and bulbs and connections. But now it shouldn't take me a couple years to fix it. He's not ripping me off. He's selling me something I want.

He may not even know of this forum. He may think it was his idea, or maybe he got it from the BMWCCA which is where I first saw it about 10 years ago when I wired up my 535i so that it did the same as this kit does.

It's 20 bucks, Folks ...

I bought and installed this kit. Think I bought the 1st or 2nd one he offered. I've been to pick & pulls and the folks don't want to break up tail light assemblies. So, for the price of two movie tickets, I now have twice the tail lights I had.

The kit came with two German Osram and color coded wires, simple install ...

I've blown 20 bucks on much less!

Just snag a pair from a local junkyard car. Most places will probably let you take them if thats all you get.

Brake Light Mod

Pretty much ... For some reason MB only installed 2 brake light bulb assemblies in the tail lights of W123 sedans & coupes although there is extra space for an easy "upgrade" to 4 lights. Basically, by using this mod, you can throw of 84 watts of "STOP NOW" red glare out of the back rather than the factory spec 42 watts of "Stop Please"

I think it's simply a safety issue, so for whatever price you can upgrade, I would.

Months ago I posted a request for a pair of the elusive white plastic bulb holders in the "Parts" area of this Board to fashion my own mod, but only got one response questioning what I was gonna do with them?!? Maybe we've found the scaliwag!
