Moly purge
I want to purge my injectors on my 300 SD, but the stuff I received in my order (called Moly Jectron fuel injection cleaner) says nothing about being for diesels. If I want to run this stuff straight (by pulling the fuel line and return line and running them into a jar with the Moly in it) am I going to be OK with this stuff? I was told that running it straight into the fuel tank is a waste of money and time, so I wanted to purge it in this fashion.
Thanks.

No, it should be Diesel Purge.

I'd skip the DP and go straight to taking the injectors out and have them tested and cleaned. That is the difference between KNOWING they are functioning and THINKING they are functioning. I did that at 100K. Cost me $70 to test 6 injectors and clean one of them and retest that one.

Ive run a diesel purge on cars before where the returning purge is dark black and Ive had to run several cans through to get it to get clear. There is no way all that grime is comming from only the injectors. Diesel purge cleans the entire injection system.

But would you know that the pop off pressure was correct or that the spray pattern is correct? If so, how? When I took mine out and had them tested, I KNEW what they popped at and that the pattern was good.

If the car idles and runs smooth, gets good power and good mileage, IMO it's close enough that it isn't worth pulling the injectors for testing. If you look for trouble, you'll find it.
If you have leaking injectors or heat-shields and have to pull them anyway (and most will eventually), that is the time to have an otherwise good-running car's injectors tested.

Moly and injectors
I had the injectors pulled about 13,000 miles ago when I first converted my car to run WVO, so I was just going to start with a Moly purge. The engine still runs smoothly, but I am curious as to whether the WVO has had any coking effect on the injectors. The problems that I thought I had related to the engine seemed to resolve themselves when I changed the transmission filter and replaced/replenished the fluid.

So how do you explain that one injector was spraying poorly and had low pop off pressure? How do you explain that I gained a little mileage after the cleaning? It was smooth running and idling and got good power.
