I am simply so pleased for yall. Pleased not really because you made it home, although that too, but pleased that you have an experience to talk about for years to come.
Me and my youngest daughter went to pick up China just a half hour/45 minutes from the house, and now her/my gag is to remember the confirmation # for the tow truck. {1170! Just went and asked her. What a smile} Ha

Wasn't her first choice of activities for that morning....

She has also bonded with China, and would rather ride in her than the wagon or the Squash. First manual roll up windows she'd ever seen in her life.

So, was simply saying all that to assure you of future references and memories yall will have about your trip. But yall have a much larger body of work!
You, Sunnyntex, Cecily, etc... are all tough MB dames with a lot of determination and ability. Dirty nails are cool too......:D

How does your youngest daughter feel about the fleet today?
:D

Just reread the entire thread and cried

So, Angel is now 17. She's her own woman, does her own thing and even spent 10 days in Greece with some friends. If you ask her what her best/favorite memory is, it's STILL the days we spent on the road.

Now it's time to do this with the 16 yo son. . .anyone got a decent MB (with good banjo bolts and no oil leaks) for sale preferably around the East Coast, or somewhere in WA?

LOL! :D

Thanks again. . .

Just read the saga. I took my 13yo daughter to Miami for my 2nd Benz.

Flew down, drove back. Sometimes it takes faith!

justme over on Ben_zworld is going to sell me a 1983 300TD for me to fix up for my wife. When I visited him last weekend I got to see his fleet. I know he's looking into selling at least his 300D n/a although I'm not sure of the year. He's in SW/Central Va.

Ginny,

Great story and memorable experience! A few years ago I was bored and saw a 72 280sel on ebay in Santa Monica that I bid on and got for 2k. Flew out and drove back to Dallas. Nothing memorable about the trip thankfully. A couple of years later saw a 78 300D in Jacksonville so combined with a business trip and drove it back. A couple of years later it was a 560sel in Colorado Springs. Then about 4 weeks ago saw a 91 300se with 64K in Boston. Yea I know, I live in Texas and buy a MA car? Never said I was smart. Hadnt been driven in 3 years but got me back home. Other than the fact that it hasnt passed emissions yet (high hc and co) and has oil in the radiator (BHG) its a pretty nice car.
