Seat belt lights and dome light are crazy
1993 300D 2.5 turbo. I noticed driving Saturaday that the red seat belt warning lights on the overhead center console were blinking (seat belt was latched). Didn't think much of it. Noticed Sun night that the dome light and red seat belt lights were on as the car sat in the garage (all doors tightly latched). Open the door, the dome stays on and the belts light goes off. I have turned off the dome manually. I started the car and moved it and it all seems to be working correctly now. (ain't broke don't fix for right now but this is going to happen again). Will those seat belt lights run down my batt during the day? I saw a couple posts on this but didn't see any explanation or fix, hoping someone has one to offer now. Is there a fuse that will solve this and not kill ten other things that I actually need - like brake lights.....

Any light that stays on is going to place unwanted drain on your battery, and the longer the car sits without running, the more damaging the toll on your battery. You're right, a quick fix would be to yank the bulbs for now until you have time to investigate. I'm not saying that this is your problem, but I believe your year/model fits into the bad wiring harness years on the 300D. You might consider having a close look there to see if the wiring insulation is breaking down and giving you the crazy lights. Do a search on 300D wiring harness, I believe the bad years were something like 1990-1995. I swear I saw someone else post about crazy light problems associated with wiring harness problems - if I can find it I'll post it. Good luck.
