Why have the driveshaft centering bushings dried up?
I Can't find this part for a 123 on any of the online places, they all say special order item. Is this something I'm going to have to get at the dealer or make myself out of some brass?

its an actual roller bearing, it should be avalible online... they go out when the seals come off and the oil inside flys out. What i suggest you do, is when you get your new one install a zerx and lube it every other time you do an oilchange.

Expensive!!!
Part # 1154100032
Dealer price $54 Fastlane was even more This is outrageous... I remember ordering one about two years ago and it was like $15. I know it wasn't close to $50 or I wouldn't have bought one. I would just take the new one out of the driveshaft thats on the car, but I doubt I'll get it out in one piece. It looks like the old one is just nylon, but its got rubber around the nylon. I presume this is to mitigate vibration transfer. I can turn a little piece of nylon for a heck of a lot less than $50. bb

Those are for the center support and bearing. I'm talking about the little nylon bushing that goes in each end of the driveshaft and fits over the little nub on the tranny tail shaft and pinion. This piece just centers the drive shaft on each respective piece because the flex-joint by itself won't cut it.
