Why give up a "sporty" coupe for a "boring" sedan? On your car the power windows are pillar-less when all the way down (back ones probably don't work too well). And, you can tell people you have a Mercedes COUPE, an easy way to impress people with it's sportiness and impracticality. A weekend or two and a MityVac could take care of your vacuum troubles. At least you don't have the Revenge of Chrysler ACC2 system like my car does. I have records of 20+ hours of labor working on that system a few decades go. A 240d won't get much better mileage than your car anyway.

But, a manual transmission swap would be nice though, at 220k on your auto transmission, maybe you should look into that in a few years.
