Hello again , car overheated yesturday to about 110c for about 1 mile may be two so 3 minutes max before i pulle dover and shut down , it was around 5 f at the time (might have frooze something) after letting car cool for about 10 miutes it started right up ran great and ran no hotter than normal(80c) car is a 96 e300d. did i ruin head?
no water in oil or in exhaust at this time. can these engines handle this abuse? thanks for help. |
It's my understanding that damage can occur when you break 120 C. Pulling over at 110, you should be fine.
I agree you might have frozen part of your radiator, which then melted when you got it hot and stopped. You probably should check your antifreeze concentration. |
