Compression tester fittings help... Anyone have the part number for the compression tester fittings for a '77 240D? |

Here is an idea that I have had in mind about compression tester test rigs. Take an old injector to a machine shop and machine and weld as necessary to open up a hole through the center to a fitting that will tie into your gauge. The negative of the whole thing is destroying a fuel injector that you could possibly have traded in as a core. Just an idea. |

My quandary Where is the best place to get a diesel compression tester? I have had a heck of a time finding a tester that reads high enough. I know they usually come with an assortment of proper fittings. I only have a low reading gas engine tester. I have checked every store around here, including Napa. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Great topic!:D |

Super Turtle and others, I got a great diesel compression guage set from an online tool supplier that was recommended, I think, by Steve Brotherton. Do a search for compression testers and see if you can find the thread. It was probably over a year ago. He even had a link in the thread. Good luck, |
