add'l thoughts
If the canister gasket is not leaking - I wouldn't touch it
I would replace the motor mount (both sides if you are inclined). You can wait on the shocks. You don't even need to jackup the car - so you can get to them when you are ready (they aren't cheap from what I remember). One 10mm bolt on the bottom, two 10mm bolts on the top, 7mm wrench to counterhold so the shaft does not spin (you'll find the flat spots on the shaft for the wrench). It'a a whopping 20min job to swap both out if you don't mind sliding under the car. Having mounts in good condition are more important than engine shocks. If you are bringing the car back up to spec, spend the time and $$$s on other stuff and leave the engine shocks for later.

I am trying to get this car back to it's original glory and don't have too far to go. For a 24 year old car, the paint is in great shape and really shines. It is pure white. The interior is also in good shape after much work. Found a good driver's side seat in the junkyard a couple of months back. The car it was pulled from was in excellent shape on the inside. I got many good parts off of it. If I could ever solve the back seat passenger side wet floorboard issue, I'd finish replacing the carpet in it. I have sealed everything i can think of, cleaned all body drains numerous times and no luck. Next will be the glass gaskets but am planning on waiting for the worst of the Houston I-10 road work to be done before I do this as I would like to get new front glass and will replace the gaskets when I do this. The car only has 245k miles on it and runs great. Have had the car for about 4 years now and the biggest expense to date has been the AC compressor. When I purchased it, all I really had to do to it was clean it up and drive it. It was originally owned by an elderly couple in Vegas. With that being said there isn't an ounce of rust on her. I also plan to do the door seals in time as they are starting to rot a little from the Vegas/Houston climate. Now that I have a third car, this one really isn't getting many miles on it and I am taking the time to bring everything back to the way it once was, ergo the questions about gaskets and such. I hope to not go this far into this area again for another 20 years.

re water
look behind your battery for the water source. you likely have a hole back there and the water runs from the front to the back,
