Diesel thermostat
I have a fuel leak in my 1993 D 2.5. Leak drops from the diesel thermostat, anterior surface. My worry is if on replacing it, air will enter into the injection system and the engine will not start.
Please advise me.

Your engine should be self priming; crank engine 30 secs at a time, 3 times max then let starter motor cool off for an hour.

i can testify to that, but make sure you have a way to charge your battery just in case you run it down while cranking. Probably wont need it though if its just the pump that needs primed.

If you lose more than an ounce or two of fuel, pull the canister filter and refill it first.
