I know, I've done it on a 617.

The shifter is completely different also, actually looks a little "cheezy" compared to the 4 spd shifter.

Must be different shifters on some of these units..the shifter in the 240D Euro that donated my 5-speed was almost identical to the 4-speed shifter.

Yah, I remember because the back up light switch was not even close to smeller, not as heavy duty as the 4 speed one. Someone said the tyrannys were the same length, maybe I coulda used my old drive shaft, didn't check. but I remember there was a 4 bolt cross member like the auto trannys have with the 4 spd. I just swapped everything

What is the stock diff in back.. 3.92? Swap in the 3.69 from the later models. $.02
