Toronto area parts?
There is a parts guy in Etobicoke, near rexdale and 401, that I can never find in the phone book. He sells Benz parts, plus other European parts. Does anyone know the name and phone number? I have a broken turn signal lens and I need to find a replacement. Any other GTA or Canadian source would be appreciated. I don't want to deal with importing bull@#$% from the US.
Thanks Peter |

There should be a lens in one of the auto wrecking yards.

This is who you are looking for. I was scouring a wrecking yard and the owner said there's this guy up in Rexdale. One thing led to the other and I found his place. Good size dismantler and parts all racked in a heated warehouse. http://precisionap.com/catalog/index.html

I suspect this is a place I went to once. I was not really impressed at the time. Might have improved over the years. There are things I automatically look for from being involved with business for many years. Their operation did not cut it in many ways. Remember again I am not positive it was the place so it is only a suspicion.
You are aware there is also a new aftermarket parts supplier listed in the title info on site. This is allowed I imagine as the mercedesshop site owners will not ship Canada. Got a few things from them the other day. Located in Toronto area or thats where my box with free shipping was posted from. Any order over 75.00 qualifies. Prices about 1/2 napa retail on the non mercedes items I was interested in. Good web catalogue with inventory levels and prices. Fair stocking of 123 type parts I noticed. Might do a little better with self pickup. Never hurts to try. Claim to be the largest auto parts outlet in Canada. Wonder who owns them? Names mean nothing these days. Look them up. www.lowestpriceautoparts.ca. They ship ups and pay the freight. Sign for delivery. In fact if you should use them try to report back to this site or private message me as if your experience is good other Canadians should know. Mine was. I too have always previously shopped usa for parts. The American mailing rates are increasing in the last year or so it seems for Canadian destinations as well. Plus too many american vendors prefer to ship ups. It's easier for them so I kind of understand. The vendors honestly in general are also not told ups will ultimatly make more out of the deal than they did. I had no problem at all with the first order. They responded they had shipped the order the same day. Arrived on the east coast in a few days. Since they post their daily availability or inventory levels your order will not be trapped by waiting for them to get something in. Also they state they are the largest auto part store outlet in canada. I am really hopeful others will try them as at present they are contributing to supporting this site. As you are aware mercedesshop does not ship Canada. Post on site if you do happen to use them. We need a reliable cost effective canadian source for parts. I am growing tired of my creativity when ordering from the states. It works but takes effort. As stated and very important their stocking level seems fair to me. So much so they might be also drop shipping as mercedesshop does in the states. I should at this point also mention that I do not work for them. I also doubt extended branches of my family in Ontario own them or any portion of them. You have to pick and choose out of their catalogue. I question their new not rebuilt rear axels with the two cv joints for 81.00 delivered to your door for example. Suppose the americans might order them? Some parts are high as well in my opinion. On those we can still do better out of the states. Last edited by barry123400; 02-23-2008 at 11:08 PM. |
