They were hard to sell as Truck Drivers did not want to loose control of there vehicle. Imagine yourself fully loaded going down a winding Moutain Road with a 400 foot cliff on one side and your alarm goes (could be high temp or low oil pressure) off and you have 30 seconds to find some place safe. The next place to pull off safely could be a long way from where you are. Big stationary Engines have automatic shutdown switches because often there is no one around to shut one down if there was a prblem. I would imagine the same situation with Marine Engines; no one to stand and watch a gauge 24 hours a day.

You can use the glow plug relay signal to bypass the engine shut off vacuum solenoid (tee-ed into the IP vacuum shutoff). You can also use the glow plug relay signal to bypass the beeper during glow plug cycle.

EXCELLENTE, Can you show us a electrical diagram wiring?. Also if we can use the same type of switch the DIESEL911 is using on his project.

I had the same experience with a petrol w108. Oil pump shaft sheared when my daughter was driving the car and I had to find a new (second hand)engine. She failed to notice the loss of oil pressure and she is an engineer. In retrospect I wonder if the failure was related to the use of a 50 multigrade oil (to control oil consumption). Andrew

50 weight oil is pretty thick, especially when it is stone cold.
