Hey Jeff, thanks very much for the tips. And yes, you're probably right in the sense that the guy probably went about changing his rear pads (they were practically new) and discovered that the calipers were shot. Found out how much they were and decided to give up the ghost.

However, I believe in the goodness of man and I will cut him a break. I know for sure that people have shown me great kindness in the past and hopefully, we can share this kindness with as many people as we meet and the world will be a better place. Hmmm sounds like the lyrics to a song
