The only way to not have to at least pay for it is to buy new.
Was the previous owner doing jumps?

My Escalade has been screaming "Service Ride Control" for the last few months because of a faulty height sensor. At first I thought the truck was asking politely or 20" spinners. My only motivation to keep it is for the bum warmers, satellite radio and its great with towing.

IMHO, driving anything cool/worth something/worth owning is a hobby. Wikipedia says a hobby is "is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, often in one's spare time"

For example, SirNiks 300SD. Keeping it running/maintaining it is a hobby of his, that he enjoys (for the most part)...

Cascades 560SEC... Its a hobby.

My 300TE... Joes E320 Cabrio... TurboBenzs' 123 and 126. DieselKrauts 123s.... I can go on and on.

You drive a Mercedes because lets face it, you like the car. It makes you happy to drive it. For some, it makes you happy to wrench on it.

Maybe it has to do with the original break in period. My 03 Suburban 145 K miles on it and it has been serviced with the fluids as recommended but it has towed been loaded beyond limit an yes off road ( Z71) carried 3/4 of a pallet of pavers in the back. To date
1 Battery
1 new set of rear pads at 75k miles
all pads and front rotors at 140 K miles
Serviced MAS
on 3rd set of tires
Now it does have the pesky gauge issue when the weather gets cold.
My brothers 05 Silverado same experience as well as my brother in law with his
06 Suburban.

Doesn't have them, still it would be cheaper MB fixes them for free. Or at least they used to.

Not quite gone. His profile shows he was on the board November 18, but he hasn't posted anything for a while....
