Here is what you do.

-Test the pop pressure.
-Take it apart and see what nozzle it has.

the datsun is a project car.
the 450 has a 617 in it. I keep a stable of 4 mb diesels around, just so that there's something that has to be fixed at all times.
Now that is an '87 wagon, an '83 SD, an 84 300d, and the 74...

You don't need 4 around to have something to fix. I have one and it always needs something. I go out to fix one thing and find 2 more. The whole car is going to be new before we sell it.

mb isn't all that good you know. it's just that besides VW (complete junk, and they use a plastic waterpump driven by the timing belt) there's nothing else to choose from in the US. unless you feel cool in a truck that gets 15 mpg on diesel of course.
imagine you could just go out and get an '02 peugeot 206 diesel for around $5000 and get 70 miles per gallon! Ah! Europe! Front wheel driven cars! Intercoolers! Democracy not linked to the dow jones! etc etc

Ok that sounds just like my truck. At least it's a diesel. Most of the time it is just parked, until I need it for work. I've been driving our $25,000 MB. When Honda brings the Accord diesel here next year we will have more choices.

what you need is a good pic of the pintle- you may have to remove it from the nozzle assy.

from what I have read, elsbett uses a flat cut pintle design, same as bosio and monarch. maybe you can post up a few more pics, and Sean Watts will, too??
