Power windows 83 300D Problem
 

So the motors work and the bottons work....but not together...its only the back driver and front passanger side which i know are linked (ive had quite a few of these cars)...my buddy slammed his fist on the passanger front door panel and that window did start to work for about a day...but the back driver side never did....i replaced the two front doors and converted them from manuel to electric and cleaned the connections....BUT the front passanger door that worked when banged wont work at all...i tested the wires and they arent broke but its not getting juice...the motor is good and the bottons...and the back has always been dead tested the bottons they work and the motor works...so before i start ripping out wires anyone had this probelm...or is there something that always seems to fail? ive had alot of thse cars but could always fix this pretty easy.


BTW no wires are broken at the hinges so wtf?

you converted the manuals to electric? Bravo! I like you garret, im guessing everyone here wants manual (why, its a benz, not a toyota?)

Well the doors were off my euro 300d and if i wanted manual all the way around id have to get rid of the wires and find two more manual door regulators....i have 4 power doors why not use them? The interior is gonna be MB-tex black with all black euro trim for the ac and bottons.

So when its done ...oh man oh man all black on black ....never tought id do it just because of the keep up but this cars factory color is black so gonna keep it real right guys?

My 85 300CD has front driver and rear passenger linked (fused) as well as front passenger, rear driver linked (fused). I believe a prior 83 300D did as well.

yeah i know they are linked but the front passanger one worked for a day while the back one didnt...im just trying to see if someone has some insight before i dig in real deep...yes im lazy....

Wires might be broken/shorted in the flexible boot connecting the door with the body door pillars. This is actually not too unusual at the age of most of these cars.

yeah i checked that before ,but im going to have to check again coz now the one windo in the back driver side wont work ...it will only go down sometimes so im sure its a broken wire somewhere.

Check the fuses. If they are the aluminum style, I would replace them with the copper( brass).FWIW. Hugh
