No but it is deadly in small amounts to animals like cats who lick it up because it tastes good so you want to wash it away with water.

Let us know how the heat behaves with the new pump.

Heating problem at idle is solved... riding in warmth once again, air blows hot. If it dies again, I'm just going to bypass it. The old pump I took out looked like it was original to the car, very old and crusty.
So, let's see... I've replaced the entire monovalve, the blower controller, the CCU... and finally the auxiliary water pump. Yep, that should pretty much cover it. :-/

Keep an eye on the blower motor too, that can also toast the CCU if it starts dragging. When mine started acting up, I pretty much replaced everything at once too. You should be good for a while now.

Blower motor sticking , how to diagnose and replace
On my 87 300 D Turbo, body:124.133 w/ about 250K miles.
How can I tell if Blower motor is sticking? short of it not turning /running at all. I have had to replace 2 CCUs , thinking they just went bad/ old. Once the the Flat plate 30Amp Fuse external to fuse box burned (crack in the middle of it). More detail: I have checked the Mono Valve, It works fine, w/ 12Volts applied to it, shuts down the heat. Thats how I have be turning the heat off, by hot wiring the Movo Valve. I checked the voltage to the Mono Valve , here are the Voltage Values: Everything Off, Car, main Elect off: 0 Volts ( obviously) Engine on, but ACC OFF: 6.1 Volts ( I think it should be 12 V) Engine on, and ACC ON: 6.2 Volts , with any Temp wheel setting (max cold to Max hot) By the way, when moving the Temp wheel setting (max cold to Max hot), I do hear a click within the ACC , but he Voltage to MonoValve does not change from 6.1 V DC. So, sounds like either another bad ACC or something else like the Cabin Temp Sensor or What else? Need help here... How do I check Cabin temp sensor? or whatever else? My 1987 300 D Turbo body is 124.133 I think my ACC part number is 124.830.18.85 ( It was some how discarded , when I bought a "similar" but not exact part number from ebay) It is hard to find the exact part number ACC. Can someone tell me what other ACC models would be compatible w/ my car? like CCU 124.830.33.85 or 124.830.24.85 would they work ? thanks |
