These morons think just because they put a encompass all disclaimer, they can say and do whatever they want. Kind of like these dummies that agreed to go on Judge Judy when they committed ebay fraud: Must watch:

GreenBenz Disclaimer:
Every vehicle I list has a clean title (unless otherwise noted and disclosed). I have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of my ability, however with all older classic vehicles, condition is subjective, and may vary from person to person. Older vehicles should be assumed to have some degree of wear. We urge inspections if you have any concerns over the vehicles condition.

While we try and disclose what is apparent, things can get overlooked, these are 25+ year old vehicles in most cases. Please be understanding and reasonable. Green-Benz is not responsible for misprints, or the assumed, it is the bidder's responsibility to verify the accuracy of all descriptions and equipment.

For this reason, our vehicles are sold "as is", "where is" and without warranty unless otherwise noted. You or someone on your behalf are welcome and encouraged to do an inspection at our location by appointment, and during the auction only. Contact me for other inspection options if you are unable to come in person.

Sounds like you could get a listing on e-bay as an official inspector of "cars" sold by this rat.
I hope he gets what is comming to him. It... Wow.... What else can you say.

has anyone else noticed the names of all those people who are bidding on the car. what are the odds of all those people having names so similar to each other. It almost looks like greenbenz makes his own names and trys to jack up the price of the cars that he sells. most of the "bidders" have bought nothing at all. here is a screen shot of all the bidders

Dumb, dumb, dumb... If you're going to bid on your own car, at least make it a closed auction.

All the meth fumes in their basement must be getting to them.

FWIW, I have an 85 Euro 300TDT that has no tach. As far as I know, the instrument cluster has not been screwed with, but I could be wrong. Actually I have a beautiful service book from the PO, with all the services filled in and stamped, looks great!. So I am pretty sure it has not been changed.

I also only have one reverse light, another euro feature.

eBay feedback

eBay actually sent one of the other victims an email that said they implemented the feedback review process "to protect the sellers."

Apparently they care about the sellers who pay the listing fees, but couldn't give a rat's ass about buyers who get ripped off by crooks like the Harrisons at Green-Benz.

If anyone out there has had similar problems, either with Green-Benz or with eBay retracting negative feedback, please contact me at swinggrrly@yahoo.com. There is a criminal case pending right now from a buyer in Northern Cal who saw one of my postings before she went to pick up the car. She got a detective to pose undercover when she went down there, and of course John tried to foist off a piece of crap car on her, too. Then he got busted. Hallelujah! Once the case gets bumped up to a federal level, the rest of us victims will be able to press criminal charges as well. They are going down. Hard.

Cheers!
Lisa

P.S. With a new air filter, a new battery, a new voltage regulator and a whole bunch of elbow grease, my fiancé has managed to get the car running and fix it up enough that it passed inspection yesterday. Woo hoo! Thank god he used to build bikes and knows a thing or two about engines (despite John telling us we had "no business buying an old car" when we complained about it not having an air filter. What a moron and an incompetant mechanic!). Still won't hold a charge like it should, but at least now it's drivable.

tyler, give the person the info that i gave to that girl, it could also bring in a whole other side of the case by bidding against hisself to raise his profit. According to ebay policy that is a no no.

Apparently eBay has begun this policy regarding the bids on more expensive items:

"eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed for higher-priced items. To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in bid history. Other members will see anonymous names, such as x***y."

Which is -- in my opinion -- utterly stupid. It's a perfect way for someone to fake-bid on an item of high dollar-value, because NO BIDDER I.D. AT ALL will be displayed for other potential bidders to see, recognize, or connect to any potential misbehavior. They have no way at all of knowing whether or not these bidders are real, except to note such things as the generic number of transactions and a general rating of feedback. (The top bidder right now, for instance, has 724 transactions. But several other bids in the thread are by users with no buyer history at all, and now -- per eBay's new rules -- DISGUISED identities, as well.)

wow, thats misrepresentation like a sonofa*****. From those few little items, most notably the comparison in the first two pictures, you can see that the car they delivered to you was worth far less than what is pictured. Just from little things like the addition of the starter button as opposed to just fixing the key switch speaks volumes about how the car was maintained in its prior life.

ebay officially claims no responsibility for feedback nor its content, says that they stay neutral and have no input nor audit in the feedback so that they are isolated legally from (probably libel suits etc.) legal issues.

I would do it just for grins, they can't be more than 2-3 miles from my place. Do a "pre-bid" inspection for a potential "buyer, sounds like fun. I could make some kind of check list type form and have it on a clip board , take a few pics...who knows!

I think that will come back to bite you. By fixing it, installing new parts and driving the car it may hurt the case.

Still, this is a perfect example of why people should NEVER bid on an eBay car until they have seen it in person!
