Checking compression through GP holes - fuel supply?

I have all the GP's out and I have the adapter etc. to check compression at the glow plug holes - do I need to do something with the fuel supply? Injectors and fuel lines are all in place. I have read thru old posts, but I'm still not sure what to do here...? Thanks.

if you move the stop lever to the stop position, and wire it that way, no fuel will be wasted. prolly not absolutely necessary since no gloplugs are present to pose a starting danger.

by doing it this way, you can remove the hard lines if you want to make it easier on yourself. cover the IP w/ a clean rag if you do this.

You can stop the fuel

Either way, with the hard lines on or off, it is nice to prevent fuel from entering the engine if they are on, or dripping over the engine compartment if they are off. If you use the junction box just forward of the battery, you can do an easy compression check all by your self, and since the ignition switch is in the off position, you should not have any fuel to contend with. People have difficulty locating that junction box, but it is just forward of the battery on top of the fender, has a cover to open from one end, and the little box is long but narrow. With a needle nose plier you can jump between two of the three screws to get the engine to crank. Try this jumping thing first, before the compression test to get a feel for it. Yes, you often see sparks fly. That is OK, and it is safe to do.

The easiest way to get to the glow plugs is with the hard lines off so by all means take them off. If you have a super clean engine and don't won't any diesel fuel on it then wire the stop like it says in other post but I would just place rags around the pump as not much fuel will come out and I don't have fresh from the factory clean engine like Karags does.
