These are my thoughts as well.

I think an MBShop super turbo forum would be good since it would be easier to find that information in one location vs it being scattered throughout DD. Another thought is that there are basically two main opinions of modifying these cars... "mercedes knows best" or "lets see what we can do"...

as a new member (less than 1 year), i can say that it would be a great benefit to cull and consolidate performance/tuning mods, tips and tricks into a new subforum. we do this too in a forum i co-own/moderate as key information and threads get buried over time. I too have found it very difficult to locate information. thank god for bookmarks, firefox, and foxmark's bookmark sync tool!

Brian,

Sounds like a great idea, and possibly overdue given the evidence. I wish I had been thinking about it and proposed it earlier. As the newer MB Diesel owners make up more and more of the membership, the interest in improving performance and tuning will grow. Great idea. Jim

I will be posting at superturbodiesel.com, but it would be fine with me to merge the two forums or have a separate MBshop diesel performance section.

I am a Benzworld member, a Shop forum member, a schuman member, was a ourSL member, visit the finnish MB site, and a VW forum member- I don't have a VW. I am online most of the fall, winter and spring, but not summer due to work. I have had 5 MB's in the last 7 years. Each forum has a different flavor, and I go to each expecting different things. SF has never had a performance bent in it's DD- and so performance "wanting" owners went to other sites- schuman primarily. Some great info has accumulated over there on the superturbo forum- nearly all of that would have happened here if the wings of a butterfly had not flapped, so to speak. I think it a DPTF would be a great addition to SF and DD. I strongly support it's creation and will contribute to it with regularity.

I don't really care one way or the other about a superturbo forum, but, as long as we're entertaining the idea of sub-forums, how about an alternative fuel forum?

I don't know much about gaining performance as of yet, but I can't stop tinkering with my cars. It would be nice to have an area where I can get info.

superturbodiesel is pretty cool too...nice and clean. Good job guys!

I like to make improvements any time I need to make repairs or upgrade when something wears out... Better Shocks, springs, brakes, cpu, intercooler, fuel lines, etc... Best to learn from another's experience...

I've participated in Diesel performance discussion in the performance area of the forum but It would be nice to have a Diesel specific performance forum.

Great idea Brian. A place where technical modifications and theory can be discussed, disseminated and quantified. Let me know, I'll probably be here more often if you do.
