Help please, leaking fuel from IP

This is from my '86 300SDL. I looked today, and saw that I am leaking fuel from what looks to be a few places on the IP. I have circled in red, where the fuel is. It looks to be coming from the rear metal tube base(s), and the base of the black plastic sensor. The black plastic sensor moves just a hair when pushed by finger, showing fuel squeezing up from under it.

I haven't messed with the IP at all, what angle of attack should I take on it? Do the bases of the Injector tubes twist out? I am guessing they might need some o-rings?

Others more knowledgeable about the om603 IP will have to chime in about the black controller. Must say that your engine looks beautiful. I think I'm going to have to go out and finally clean my engines. These things are a work of art when spic and span.

Are you sure the fuel is coming from the black thing on top? I had a similar problem with my '86 300SDL. However the fuel was leaking from the injection pump fuel exit connections. You need new injection pump seals, if that's where it's leaking from. I wouldn't wait too long to repair it. Mine started at one outlet then over the course of a week (900 miles later)all of them started leaking. Car burnt up alongside the highway. My fault small leak became a huge leak, fuel inlet left side exhaust right side how could ignition possibly take place. Blah, blah, blah, burnt metal hulk side of the road. Other people on here have actually done the job before I guess you need a special inside spline socket. Of course if you're leak is up top and leaking down I have no idea.

I have no idea if it's leaking from the black think...I don't even know what the black thing is. It does have fuel around it though, and looked suspicious.

The engine was suppossedly rebuilt like 20k ago, but they must have done a really half-assed job because this car leaks every fluid it possibly can. I'll look into new seals on monday.

Anybody done this job or have input?

Leaks

Pic#1 :

Go Here:
OM60_series IP delivery valve reseal

Follow M.B.Doc's instructions!

Pics#2+3:
Electrical connection for ELR/EDS (electronic idle control).

Go Here for an excellent view of the plug:
You have to use your EDIT pull-down in your upper toolbar:
Highlight, copy and paste into your browser's search bar

file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Owner/My%20Documents/602%20shutoff%20replace.htm

I sure as Hell hope it's not leaking from that(cause I don't know "nuffin" about
how IT seals.)
PM M.B.DOC and ask him if it's possible for the ELR/EDS socket on the I.P.
to leak?

Spray the IP clean with carb or brake cleaner on a moderatly warm engine. Then drive it around a while and check again for where the leaks first appear.

Fuel gets blown back, is oily and can wick up and can be deceptive.

Pretty sure there is an oring under the ELR/EDS.

Brake cleaner is good but after is dries, follow up with a leak tracing powder if you really want to be sure.

You will need a special MB tool to remove the splines in the pump and the job can be VERY tedious, I don't recommend doing yourself if you're not comfortable with medium difficulty repairs, due to the possibly of damaging the pump if one of the shafts gets put in incorrectly. Torque sequence/specs are important too, don't overlook that if you do decide to do them yourself.
