The guy who makes the frybrid kits said that he sized the in-tank heated pickup by freezing a 30-gal aquarium of VO with his heated fuel pickup in it, then he started an old VW with a little diesel engine and by the time that engine had reached temp, its coolant (running through the heated fuel pickup) had melted enough of the frozen VO to begin its journey to the engine...and could continue to melt enough fuel to feed a big cummins engine.

The details may not all be correct, but that's the gist of how he sized it. So you shouldn't have a problem with gelling with a frybrid tank.

Basically you add some thinner to vegetable oil.
Like diesel, regular unleaded gas, or kerosene.

Thanks
Have Fun !

Finaly!!!!!!

Everyone talks about running SVO or WVO like it's the only option.

I do not have any opinion about Lovecraft either way. But I did notice There are posts mentioning injecting oil into the cylinders. We all need to keep in mind our engines are INDIRECT INJECTION NOTHING is injected into the cylinders.

Also what's good for someone in Portland may not be the best for someone in southern Cal.

That's your opinion and your certainly entitled to it. What's good for someone in Colorado is not necessarily good for someone in Florida.

I have been blending for 2 years now and my compression hasn't changed at all.

Single tank VO and blending will both pass vegetable oil into the crankcase when started, before the engine is warm. So if you insist on burning vegetable oil in your oil burner, consider halving your oil change interval. Otherwise, say bye bye to your engine after the vegetable oil polymerizes on your cylinder walls and turbo, starving your bearings of lubrication. At least do extensive sump oil analysis to help find the point where your oil is no good any more.

I was talking about blending in the 2-tank system.
I don't think I would ever put anything but diesel or biodiesel in my original tank. I'd be nervous to put B100 in my original tank in cold weather.
I live in NH, it was -11 last week. I run B20, and I still add PowerService.

If I was going to blend, it would be in a 2-tank system. Which at that poiint I could run SVO, or WVO, or biodiesel in the 2nd tank if I was trying to be *super* careful.

Again, all my opinions. I still only have a single tank For now...

Single-tank and blending VO failure is hype from a few angry (and lazy) people who bought a $500 MB, ran poorly filtered veggie oil through it, and killed it.

I've never met a person who did everything right (filtering, conversion, etc.) and then had a VO-related engine failure. Most of the anti-VO opinions I've come across are from people who have never actually done a conversion, or once ran a couple of gallons and spilled it on themselves (which made them mad at VO), or just don't "like" the idea.

That said... Lovecraft is overpriced. You can build a good single-tank system yourself for less than $250, and it will be much better than the $600 Lovecraft kit.

Post a link to some proof !

We have been over this many times.
The only experience you have is two liters of virgin oil
that you burned one day.

And your brothers opinion.

Apply what you said in another post.
Third hand knowledge is not proof.

Please stick to your experience.
Because your opinion is just that, an opinion.

So far I have thousands of miles on different vehicles without
any failures.

Who is trolling.
You should not even post in a thread about alternative fuels.
You have no experience.

You have absolutely no right to tell me what to do AND you obviously have no clue of my experiences. It doesn't take a trip on acid to understand it can have bad consequences. Just like that acid, I don't have to abuse my engine with waste fryer crap to understand that its harmful.

Keep trolling.

You gotta admit though - it is kinda funny. Alanis Morrisette even wrote a song about it. Or was that just bad luck?

By the way, that reminds me of an obscure Jack Black TV show...didn't last long (really cheesy - kind of a cult classic)....and that was the catch phrase - had a talking motorcycle and everything....damn, what was that called?

I know, I know, google is my friend.
