I DO DENY THE HYPE. The only part in contact with the fuel is the plungers. Once again, if it WAS an issue we would be seeing failing pumps all over the place.

The fact that lubricity is reduced is not, what IS debated is HOW MUCH it affects it. The answer is, not enough to harm anything.

You forgot the oil companies, can we deny their greed as well....LOL, bottom line, who knows? To each his own, and in my own, 2-cycle oil, 1oz to every 1 gallon....;)

I'm highly doubt a station is adding lubrication to any fuel...

I add 12 oz. vegetable oil (food aisle at Wal-Mart) at every fillup. Maybe it's placebo effect or maybe it's lubricating the pump better. Who knows.

Not to disagree so much as to say that I sure do like the way the car runs with a little biodiesel mixed in with the ULSD...

You're 100% right. The station does not add any additives, those are added at the refinery as the truck is being filled.

I'm under the impression that ATF is added to fuel, occassionally, in order to clean the fuel system. ATF is not added specifically for lubrication purposes. I was told to do this by a couple of indy mechanics in the area. That said, I haven't burned anything but diesel fuel.

Yeah, I know. Though the difference for me MPG-wise is small...20.5 v. 20.4 something. I'm lucky to get 21 mpg on any tank of fuel.

No need. My pump has been running perfect on ULSD from day 1.

I add 12oz of Marvels Mystery Oil to every tank. Engine runs noticeably smoother.
