Vibration on '84 300D Turbo
I have this vibration comimg from driveshaft ( i guess) especily during acceleration... it feels like that rear tires are almost skipping on the ground....
I have replaced the center support for the driveshaft as the rubber was worn out.. I put new rubber piece and new bearing and I made sure that I put the shaft the same way it came out (if i missed it could have been only by maybe 1-2 degrees). Both Flex Disks looked fine no visible crack or signs of vearing out. Does anyone know where else I need to look and what to check on? Any suggestionSwhere the vibration myabe comming from? Also at the higher speeds (aroung 60-70 MPH) you can hear a humming sound coming from, what seems like, under the car (but not sure from where). Thanks |

well, you covered most of what I would have suggested to chk. One thing you said that may be a factor is the feeling of "skipping" tires. This usually is an indication that shocks are bad. Further eveidenced by cupping of the rubber especially if its been bad for a while. Cupping means signs of flat surfaces on the tread.
