'84 330D Sedan Driver's Seat

Can anyone tell me how to remove the driver's seat from an '84 300D Sedan? I Have the nuts off the front bolts but I absolutely cannot figure out how to get the back loose. I tried unscrewing the 2 screws on top but that does no good. I am stumped and the Chilton's I have is useless. I'll greatly appreciate any help here. Jim

to remove the seats

there are four bolt (2 in front and two in back) I think its a 13mm. they bolt the seat to the car directly. also there is a bar between both of the seats on the inside that needs to slide off while you are physicaly removing the seat. dont try to remove the bar.

You have to adjust the height to the tallest position to get at the back ones, IIRC.

Pull up on the handle on the left side of the seat and slide it all the way up. Then move the seat all the way forward with the handle in front pulled up.

You will then have access to the rear bolts.

Moving the seat to the full up and forward position often requires one person to pull up on the side handle and another pushing the seat forward and up from behind.
