Turbo Diesel Engine in a 220d?
Can 300 (turbo) diesel engines be made to fit into a 220d?
Would I get better mileage out of the 220d with a more powerful engine? Anybody every try this? Please give me the details. Thanks, Alan H. |

What chassis is the 220d, a W115 I would guess? The engine will fit, but the stock oil filter will need to be relocated. Quote:
No, your mileage will go down because you will be accelerating faster. Here is a start of what you will need to do: http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6 You could use this kit to relocate the oil filter: Alternative oil filter and oil cooler system

Ditto, do the filter relocation and it will fit. You'll also loose about 10mpg over your current engine.
