SLS Problem on this wagon? See pic

See the picture, does this thing have a self leveling problem? Looks like the back is lower than the front.
Also, what are the signs to watch for. Never owned a wagon and am curious. |
Measure the distance from the horizontal trim strip to the ground in front and in the rear. The wheel wells are spaced differently and can make the rear appear lower when it may not be.

Probably has SLS. Most (all US models?) do. If the control valve is leaking internally , they squat when not running and rise when the pump builds pressure.

It looks okay to me. But, they can be a bit hard to read sometimes, because the rear fenders are lower than the front. Like Chad suggested I would measure it. The biggest problem with the wagon SLS is leaking. Leaking makes the rear end sag when it sits. If everything else is working properly the rear will raise up when you start the car. Also you should have a couple of people sit in the rear and see if it lifts up. Usually if the people put their feet on the ground they can feel the rear lifting. Also look in the SLS fluid reservior. The fluid should be clean. If it's black and looks like oil then there is motor oil in the system, and the pump needs to be resealed.
Also look for rust at the bottom of the hatch. They like to rust there. |
