I've had two 914's. Always wanted a 914 with the 6. Getting to where I could afford to do it??

Wife says about the 944. "Its not practical with the family"
I say "Yes, and your point?"
or it gets good gas mileage.

Take a few laps in one any you will be surprised that it doesn't happen more often.

The first 914 I owned had an unfortunate incident involving too much speed, a deer, and a really big tree.

My second one has been parked for about 15 years now, while I think about the best ways to waste ridiculous amounts of money on it. I've seen folks drop in very high performance sixes and end up with cars that are just stupid fast.

Yes, and I really don't need to go stupid fast anymore. Just want to get there. Actually I'd rather have excellent gas mileage. May just need to start making biodiesel.

I understand, I usually just take the bike out for a spin when I want a little speed fix.

Aston Martins are British junk my friend? Anyway, yes Ferarri's are nice. I went to the museum when I was stationed in Italy. The factory was right next door and they would burn them up and down the road right off the factory line, it was sweet. Sounded like...a bunch of Ferrari's burning up and down the street. You would love it.

When I was at the factory in very early 2002 I saw the Enzo test buck driving around Maranello. It was flat black but unmistakably a bad azz machine. When you drive into town you go over a little railroad overpass and can see the entire ferrari test track from it. I have a picture. The old timey entrance that they used in the fifties is still there and it looks the same as the old pictures.

The entire town is absorbed by Ferrari. The surrounding area reminds me of the midwest here....building material manufactures such as brick factories, etc.

The museum is worth a visit....very cool.

There are also Ferrari restoration shops around. I visited several. In my favorite I noted a stack of hand made bumpers for a 59ish ferrari on the floor. It was very enjoyable.
