Lower control arm DIY tool---geesh, i can't find it >:|
Hi gents,
sorry if this ruffles a few old timer feathersm, but when I say "i searched", try a few hours worth of searching! Of course, some of the vets here could probably find it in about a minute or two w/ the right key word, but "LCA bushing tool" or "control arm tool" or any one of 7 or 8 variants of the word using even the google search box turned up nothing. so does anyone have a link or a picture of the threaded rod tool that i know i've seen before that will help remove and install the lower control arm bushings on a W124? Mine is an 87 300DT Thanks, Bob |
There is a good description of the homemade tool on this thread:

brian,
thank you for your help. i think i can visualize what this might look like. sounds somewhat similar in concept to the rear subframe bushing tool bob |
The thread was for a 123, Bob has a 124, ... I've tried this with a 124 to no avail. Seems like removal and a press would be necessary. Are the 123 and 124 bushings the same?
