Talking Most expensive fill up challange...

Lets make the best of this, since complaining is so damn dull.

Whats the most $$$$ you have ever put into your MB at once?

I usualy run the SDL down to 3 gallons when the light comes on, so a tick over 20.5 to fill. So I should see $85.28 to fill the tank!

This could be a brutal thread if the price keeps going up!

I usually fill up at around half tank, so mine aren't usually that bad. However, when I bought my 300D it was almost out and I had to put in $60 worth. That was two and a half years ago when diesel spiked over $3 and then went back down for a while.

25 gallons of premium in the X5, at $3.19 comes to $79.75

This was when my fuel range computer was telling me I had less than 5 miles to go. Most pumps in town stop at $75.00; you have to start a different transaction to get more.

Just one of the reasons why the bimmer's in semi retirement.

As for ol' turbo, I'm usually paying $50-60 to fill up.

The sad story will happen when one of us........probably in CA.........fills up an SDL and spends $100. to do it.

Anybody want to place a bet as to when that will first happen?

Probably by the end of this year, maybe by the end of the summer. It has a lot to do with how quickly the dollar tanks. We need to figure out how to get paid in euros.

Does this include auxillary tanks bulk fuel drums? Because if it does then my biggest fuel up cost was with my Dodge Ram. I filled both tanks, 80 gallons, 8 5 gallon jugs and one 55 gallond drum for a grand total of 175 gallons for a total cost of $628.78! Shopping for a months supply of Biodiesel all at once!

I think my highest was $80 with a company fuel card

I always run my tank half full... reason being .. less fuel= less weight= better efficiency..If it works for the airline company.. It might work for me

sure my 124lb ass really burns the fuel..

my friends think its a joke when I say it costs me close to $100 to fill my car... they point and say " wtf, how much fuel does it take." -whips out the owners manual[original]) me:" 21.5....ish"

W140 S350D - I came in on fumes on a business trip. 24+ gallon tank.

24 gallons * $3.79 gallon = $90.96.

It was truely painful.

I bet we will before the year is out. $5,200+ a year in fuel, driving a diesel.

I want a bike, maybe when I get out of school I'll look into getting an older BMW bike.

All my money goes to fuel and car.. I only made $12k last year( part time college kid)... Most of it went to the car with the rest going to traveling expenses and saving some of it.. I put 10% of my income into a savings.. so.. I guess I'm alright.. I'm halfway to the minimum to open an MMA

No that doesn't count.

Its going to be brutal at the fuel dock this summer; even small boats are going to cost like $1k to fill up! Diesel is probably going to be $5-$6 at the dock, so my dentists boat will cost about $6k to fill from empty! That Amex is going to scream!

X2
I didn't make much more last year, and I'm SOL if I don't bring in a few bucks this year.

A station in WC next to the freeway was $4.40 gal for D2 yesterday.

My normal station is up to $4.07.

Falling dollar and lower interest rates to keep pushing in down further isnt going to help matters.
