Going to get new glow plugs, what is engine range?

This might be a dumb question, I'm going to order new glow plugs from this website, what is the engine range? I have the engine no: 048734.

Which one is better,Bosch or Beru?

But it asks for the engine range when you do this.

1981 was the year when they changed from the series type GPs (with the loop on the end) to the parallel type. The web site is asking if your engine number is in the lower range or the higher range. Do you know which type of GPs you have?

I don't know what type of GPs are in it.

Also, you need a couple more digits. The 10- or 12- tells you the transmission type.

Do you know whether you have the pencil-type plugs or the loop type? That is the real question.

or

What size wrench fits your glow plug hex?

It will be on the drivers side of the engine block, just below the head, toward the rear. Easiest way is to take a dull pencil and paper and make a rubbing of it.

When you look at the GPs, do they have separate wires to each one, or do they have a series of wires jumping from one to the next?

If you have the little metal "credit card" that came with the card, that will also include the engine number.

Good, that means the applicable range is "12-035840-" (the newer pencil type):

I use the Bosch, but they are both good.
