I was behind none other than the infamous Dodge Omni today on my way to school! It was in mint shape. Man, thats a tiny little car. According to what I've read, they see about 38 city/46 hwy or something like that. There were three people in it! I could have run it over with my beast of a 126. Its smaller than a mini/yaris/etc....

As for the tdi's being best. Easily. Clarkson drove a VW Lupo 1.5 3cyl diesel on a long trip on Top Gear and averaged something like 76mpg or so. Insane. I could make the regular trip that costs me $24-26 a time for about $7.75!!!! Still....it'd take diesel being at least 2x its current price for it to wound me enough to reduce/stop driving my W126.... Over my dead body! I celebrated fuel prices by hitting the MAX (112-114ish) speed of my car today....haven't done that in like 8 months. It was awesome!

In one of the top gear shows Clarkson averaged 40mpg (UK mpg ) in an Audi A8 4.0 tdi .

I'll bet that the Prius emitted more SMUG than the BMW, too.

(A South Park hybrid vehicle reference for those of you who haven't seen it.)
