Unhappy Wouldn't It Be Nice?

Aren't they cool? And dig that crazy shifter on the dash! I want one!!!

Unfortunately, these particular units are being sold in Europe by BOSS Truck in Italy:

As far as I know, "Vito" isn't available in North America. I guess Daimler-Chrysler doesn't see any value in competing with the Chrysler minivans, even though they do compete against Jeep with the ML...

'01 S320CDI in FL

Here is a S320CDI for sale, problem is Export only and the price is a little high. Would however be a fun engine to transplant into my '99 E320 Wagon. Would be fun to see how that engine moves the new S-Class. I've only heard good things about the Mercedes CDI engines.

The Vito is a nice VAN to drive with although the level of detailing is too low for MB standards.
The Vito comes with engines that are placed from the left to the right (not longitudinal?) and the diesels are all 4-cylinders (before as a 2,3 liter or 2,3 liter turbo diesel, currently in several CDI versions). Petrol driven Vito's are available with the VW Vr6 as well (as I have been told by a MB partshop guy).

The dash with the shifter is not comfortable for people with long legs (me)...I can't get rid of my knee.
The parking brake pedal is put up too high and it is common to kick the dash every time you want to push the parking brake pedal.
Besides these little problems, the Vito is actually really nice! Alloy W140 rims fit on this van, so it is possible to make something nice out of it (there are a lot of lowered Vito's here).

greetingz,
