Question I am tired !!!!!!!

My 85 SD was totaled in DEC this year! It was a great car. Now I am looking for another Mercedes diesel. Since I am starting new, I figured to get a slightly newer one, w/airbags. I cant find one! I looked at 126 cars
and even 140 cars, but who wants to put up with bad head gaskets or motors! I cant even find a clean one ! Now I am thinking about going to the E-class ! what year should I look at ?

Depends on what you want to spend really. I really like the 1995 E300D's.

Ditto...with the 1995 you get a car with less electrical complication than the W210, but the 606 engine. Many others must feel the same because every time I see a W124 with a 606 they seem to catch higher prices that a 1996 W210 with a 606.

Only 30K miles?

If the mileage is correct...depending on the maintenance...a tank.

This sounds too good to be true, to me.

Agreed, that sounds like a new one, but cars that old with such low mileage, problems such as rotted and shrunken rubber issues, from under use apply.

These cars need to be driven and this one must have sat a lot.

But, if the www.mbcoupes.com buyers guide for the W126 is applied where applicable to it, the car should be grabbed.

The buyer probably is ignorant and has no idea what it is worth.

If it is in great condition, with no problems, mechanical, cosmetic or title-wise, of any kind, it is easily worth double or triple its asking price, and would sell INSTANTLY at the asking price, for which he would take even less!!!.

Boy that paperwork had better be in order, sometimes when it looks to good to be true.....
