Which fluids?

Hello all.

I have read that anything but MB coolant should not be used in our cars because of phosphates that attack the aluminum. Isn't the 616 all Cast Iron? If so, I have some new jugs of TEXACO coolant that I have heard does not contain phosphates so I think i'm safe using that, but would like your feedback.

Secondly, 4spd MANUAL transmission fluid....what the heck to use? Mobil1 10W30 synthetic sound good?

Thanks all!!!!

The thermostat housing, water pump housing, heater core and radiator core are aluminum. The MB coolant also helps protect the brittle radiator plastic end tanks from cracking.

ATF should be used in the manual.
