front half drive shaft length, 240D
 

Well yet another issue on the 4speed swap. the guy shortening the driveshaft was not there when I dropped off the 240D manual front drive shaft to be shortened. I made the mistake of leaving the picture. As a result, he made me a brand new front shaft, for a coupe auto. He assumed that the top picture was the start, even though the shaft was 4 1/2 longer than the dimension shown and he made it to the lower dimension which is 13-3/8.

does anyone know the length of a 240D automatic front drive shaft? I know there is a 240D in the pic and pull around the corner but it is an automatic so Im afraid it might be too short to get it to 19-1/2 which is what I need for the swap.

I would go get that driveshaft for backup if nothing else...
might come in handy if he needs to weld up something ...

the guy had another drive shaft in his shop, all's well again.......
