Will a transmission from a 1984 W123 300D work properly in a 1987 W201 190D with the 2.5 turbo?

I have no facts to back up this guess... but I will guess there is NO way to even get close to it fitting,, much less working.... LOL
But don't give up until someone with facts answers it..

Well....

Inline engines have a similar bolt pattern. V-8s are different.

When the slant inlines came online, OM60X and M10X, the bolt pattern changed.

So, the answer is...... No.
