Did my 83 300D w123 have..

I got this car and it was missing the valve cover. I have been looking thru some pictures and in some of the pics there is a black box mounted on the valve cover with three vacuum lines running into it.

What is this black box called, and am i supposed to have one? if so where do you find one?

thanks ahead of time!

It is for the EGR control. No, you don't need (or want!) it or it's vacuum tubes.

Agreed, I think it's called a 3/2 valve.
